The 101st winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Wednesday 28th April 1909 over the Rowley Mile, was Minoru (4/1), a brown colt by Cyllene out of Mother Siegel, owned by HM King Edward VII. The winner won by 2 lengths in 1 minute 37.8 secs, with 1 1/2 lengths back to the third. A field of 11 runners contested the race which was worth £5,050 (Equivalent to £555,500 in 2017)
